World of Warcraft time cards

World of Warcraft is no doubt one of the most important video games in history. It wasn't the first massively multiplayer online role-playing game, but it's been setting standards for the whole genre since its release. Furthermore, it broke all the popularity records for an MMORPG. In 2010 it reached its peak with 12 million subscribers. Years later, WoW is still very popular because of a loyal fanbase and numerous expansion packs that have kept adding new content such as new races, continents, and quests.

There are eight expansion sets so far:

• The Burning Crusade (2007),

• Wrath of the Lich King (2008),

• Cataclysm (2010),

• Mists of Pandaria (2012),

• Warlords of Draenor (2014),

• Legion (2016),

• Battle for Azeroth (2018),

• Shadowlands (2020).

Each of the expansions was a huge success, and some of them are among the fastest-selling video games in history. Especially, Shadowlands is worth mentioning because it sold 3.7 million copies on launch day.

The Alliance or the Horde?

One of the keys to Word of Warcraft's success is also a beloved setting popularized by RTS games of the Warcraft series. Every player wanted to roam the Azeroth as a mighty hero, either of the Plague or the Alliance.

As for now, players may choose their race from 13 options. There are Orc,
Undead, Tauren, Troll, Blood Elf, Goblin for the Horde and Human, Dwarf, Night Elf, Gnome, Draenei, Worgen for the Alliance. Pandaren can belong to either faction.
