Vikings are coming

Kingdoms and Castles is a simulation game that challenges players to develop a kingdom from a humble hamlet into a grand city with a formidable castle. Survival is crucial in a dynamic and perilous world. Will Viking raiders pillage your villagers, or will they meet a barrage of arrows at the castle gates? Can you fend off a dragon that threatens your granary, ensuring your people survive the winter? The destiny of your kingdom relies on your expertise as a planner for both the city and castle.

Carefully design your town to enhance the happiness of your peasants and attract new residents. Balance taxation to fund your castle and ensure your people have enough food and are protected from plagues. Construct churches to prevent despair and taverns to maintain happiness. Consider hosting festivals in a town square if you've built one. Deploy woodcutters to gather wood, establish stone quarries for castle construction, and optimize farming for town growth.

Fortify and defend

Be wary of Viking invasions in the new land you're settling. These raiders aim to harm your peasants, steal resources, and burn your town. Utilize a flexible castle building system that allows you to place blocks anywhere, dynamically creating towers and walls based on your arrangement. Experiment with layouts to defend your kingdom and showcase your prowess as a ruler.

Experience this in a visually stunning world with a stylized procedural cloud system and a seasonal cycle from summer to winter. A realistic tree growth algorithm simulates forests, giving you the choice between clear-cutting or responsibly managing your wood resources based on your needs.
